From May 23 to 25, the \u201cHainan Week\u201d event was successfully held at the China Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai under the theme \u201cTowards Green Growth, Open and Shared.\u201d The event showcased Hainan\u2019s achievements in high-level opening-up and high-quality development to global audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening ceremony on May 23, Ms. Li Qingshuang, Vice Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Government Representative of the China Pavilion, stated that Hainan Week exemplifies the integration of nature and culture, as well as openness and innovation. She emphasized that the event will further promote the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and strengthen international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Xue Jian, Consul General of China in Osaka, noted the growing economic and trade ties between Hainan and Japan in recent years, particularly in the fields of healthcare, modern agriculture, and the digital economy. He expressed hope that the event would deepen mutual understanding and practical cooperation between Hainan and various sectors in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent Japanese guests, including Mr. Takeo Kawamura, former Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan and Chairman of the Japan-China Friendship Cultural Exchange Association; Mr. Jun Takashina, Deputy Secretary-General (Executive Board Member) of the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition and representative of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Mr. Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of the Japan-China Economic Association; Mr. Akihiro Shikida, Member and former Chairperson of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly; and representatives from leading Japanese companies such as Shiseido and Tsumura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Hainan Week, the CCPIT Hainan Provincial Committee and the CCOIC Hainan Chamber of Commerce jointly hosted the Hainan Featured Products Exhibition. The exhibition featured signature Hainan products such as coconut carvings, agarwood items, specialty coffee, and tea. The display highlighted the island\u2019s tropical lifestyle and industrial strengths. The event also introduced the China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) through mascot displays and a promotional video, effectively connecting the Expo to the global platform of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In parallel, the special exhibition \u201cEchoes of the South: Blossoms of Heritage\u201d was held, focusing on Hainan\u2019s intangible cultural heritage. Through illustrated panels, live demonstrations, and interactive experiences, the exhibition showcased Li ethnic ornaments, brocade works, and a variety of creative cultural products. Ten nationally or provincially recognized heritage inheritors from Hainan demonstrated traditional Li weaving, bamboo and wood instruments, and coconut carving, allowing visitors to experience the rich cultural essence of Hainan up close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a key part of Hainan\u2019s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, Hainan Week served as a vital platform for enhancing local-level exchanges between China and Japan and advancing the global visibility of the Hainan Free Trade Port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
